Our next event: “The magic of Fado”

In December, experience the magic of Christmas as you walk through the door of an establishment filled with history in the heart of Alfama, the oldest district of Lisbon.

During a 3-hour private dinner-concert with a prefix menu that includes starter, main course, dessert, wine and coffee, you will discover Fado, this unique singing performance classified as Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO since 2011.

What is Fado ?

Fado is a performance genre incorporating music and poetry widely practiced by various communities in Lisbon. Fado songs are usually performed by a solo singer, male or female, traditionally accompanied by a wire-strung acoustic guitar and the Portuguese ”guitarra” – a pear-shaped cittern with twelve wire strings, unique to Portugal, which also has an extensive solo repertoire.

The event:

After welcoming you, your host will give you all the information about this special night. For approximately 3 hours you will enjoy a nice Portuguese dinner, cooked with care and high quality ingredients, as you’ll listen to the beautiful and authentic Fado singing performance of professional artists.

This unforgettable evening will end around 11pm but will last forever in your memories!

Once your booking is confirmed, we will send you all the information you need regarding the event, including the name and address of the restaurant, that is located in the city center. For now we keep it a secret 😉

This incredibly authentic and well decorated restaurant has the perfect acoustic so everyone can easily hear the beautiful voice of the Fado singers echoing against its 14th centuries walls.

The artists:

During your dinner, you’ll get to meet professional Fado artists. You’ll have the possibility to listen to both a man and a woman performing.

The singers are accompanied by two of the best musicians of Portugal who will be playing the Portuguese guitar and the classic guitar.

The Menu

The menu consists of an entrée, a main, a dessert, wine and coffee. Everything served at this venue is homemade with fresh, high-quality products.
